The half breed is made with 32oz canvas, leather bound and stuffed with a one inch pad. Our saddles come with oak sideboards. Oak unlike pine is a hardwood which resists chipping along the edges therefore tearing and snagging your manties and panniers is almost non existent. The oak sideboards are fit into form fitted leather pockets that are laced shut, not screwed in place like others. Screw heads will also tear and snag manties and panniers. This halfbreed comes standard with all our deckers. Only Hermann Oak Leather which is American hides and American tannage are used in the construction of these great saddles. The straps are copper riveted, sewn and glued at all connection points. We use all roller buckles for easy adjustment. Hardware is standard brass, if interested in nickel please contact us for a special order.
